Welcome to Tiffany Hix Photography! I'm so glad you decided to stop by because I LOVE what I do and I would love to share it with you. Here you will find sneak peeks of recent sessions, images of my adorable children (when they let me photograph them) and random things that I find interesting ... and I am quite random at times! I am so excited to announce the new Children of the Sun Portrait Marathon! I've got all the details worked out and ready to share with you!
The Children of the Sun Portrait Marathon is a limited edition mini session event with special event pricing! The mini sessions are for 1 child or individual only and will last 10 minutes.
When: Saturday, July 10th
Time: 7-9 am & 7-9 pm
Location: Will be disclosed to those who book
Mini Session Fee: $30 fee is non-refundable and payable at the time of booking.
You may register for your Children of the Sun Mini Session here and Tiffany will contact you to select your session time and confirm the details or you may call Tiffany at 208.724.1303 to register by phone. You will also receive an email with helpful session suggestions and tips on what to wear.
Special event portrait rates will be available for the Children of the Sun Portrait Marathon with gift portraits starting at $30 and wall portraits starting at $110. Portrait Collections available.
Space for the Children of the Sun Portrait Marathon is very limited so book your session right away to reserve the time slot of your choice!!

Here is the adorable little Miss "A" ... this is her 5th session and she was full of energy and curiosity. There was lots of Fruit Loops involved in the making of the images and even though she made me work for it, they turned out simply gorgeous!! I can't wait to see her again for her big 2 year session!

Ok, so I know ... I am a REALLY REALLY bad blogger lately!!! I'm sorry to all of you wonderful blog readers and stalkers out there. I've just been so busy!! But, the only thing I put on my to do list today is to blog ... so blog I will!
Here is little Miss "A" at 9 months ... this is the third time I've gotten to photograph her and she's just about due for her big 1 year session!! I had so much fun with this session. I adore shooting little ones in their homes because they are so relaxed and not overwhelmed by new things or new places. We had a blast and got some amazing images! I ADORE the images of her in the 100 year old bowl!!

Every year the Professional Photographers of Idaho hold their annual convention with amazing speakers and educators to come and teach the photographers in Idaho new ways of photographing people, ways to help business and other fun stuff. This year's convention was no exception! I thought it was hands down the best convention I've attended so far. We had Sam Gardner, Lori Nordstrom, Bill Sorenson, Greg Sims, and Scott & Adina Hayne. I was also honored that I was asked to speak as well! I must admit it was rather frightening to speak to a group of peers, most of whom have years more experience than I do. I spoke about shooting in low light in the client's home, which I do quite a bit of. I got some great feedback about the topic I spoke on and once I got going and started getting questions I was much more at ease. It was a great experience.
Another fun part of the PP of Idaho annual convention is the print competition! We can submit 6 images for competition and they are judged by a panel of 5 Master Photographers. There are 6 judges and each judge rotates and 1 will sit out during a portion of the judging. This is my third year entering print competition but the first year where I felt like I had a better understanding of what the judges are looking for. My photographer friends and I sat in a darkened room all day to watch each other's prints come up and be scored. It was exciting and fun! Sometimes the judges will call back an image because they want to look it over again and talk about it and try to increase (or sometimes decrease) the overall score of the image. It's great when the judges do that because you get to hear what their thoughts are about the image and it's a great opportunity to learn. This year, I learned a lot!! The judges brought back 2 of my images to discuss and it was great to hear their feedback during the judging and then after the judging is over you can ask each judge to discuss their thoughts on your prints. I am VERY happy with the way my prints scored in competition this year. I earned 3 merits and a Judges Choice Award!
