Every time I see this little guy I am just baffled by how much he has grown!  He's 1 now and this is my fourth time photographing him ... you would think I'd be more prepared for his growth but he has changed so much in the past year.  He's such a handsome little guy, don't you think?!  It was great to see you again, Mr. "N" ... until next time!

The highly anticipated Miss "K"!!  And isn't she beautiful!!!  I love her big blue eyes and her cute little tongue sticking out of her pouty lips.  Oh so sweet!!

Enjoy!!

My husband is away on business in China.  :(  We miss him a lot but thanks to this wonderful program called Skype we are able to talk to him on the phone over the computer.  It's really cool and the kids love it!  I decided it would be a good idea to post a few photos of the kids so he can look at them online when he misses them.  So, here you go. Here's Gabe ... this is his 5 year old birthday invitation photo :)blog5.jpg  Here's Alison, she was singing a song from "Enchanted" much of the time we were in the alley ... when she wasn't picking up rocks or trying to steal Paytan and Abbie's hair things.     ablog1.jpg  And the day wouldn't be complete without a great big squeeze! gablog1.jpg  Now, for those of you that were just thinking to yourselves ... "oh my gosh, that dress that Alison is wearing is so cute, where can I get one??" I have the answer!  A friend and fellow photographer and seamstress extraordinaire, Kelly Bennett, made that darling little hankie dress for me.  You can see the dresses she still has available here or if she's sold out I'm sure she'd make you one!  Thanks Kelly, I love the dress on Alison ... it matches her hair perfectly!!!
Ok, I know how anxious you are to see your images and I have to tell you that I am so excited for you to see them too!!  I just did a quick run through to select my favorites and I had to play with this one.  Miss "E" is so stinking cute in that hat!  I did a vintage tone on this image.  I will post another sneak peek for you of Miss "K" later.  I hope you LOVE it!!!

Oh, wasn't today a beautiful spring day?!!  I just knew when I woke up this morning that I had to get out and shoot.  I called a couple of my favorite little models and great friend and told them to meet me downtown for a little impromtu photo shoot.  It was so much fun!!  My kids and her kids are cousins (second cousins, lol) and they always love to get together and play!  I really wanted to get a fabulous shot of all 4 of them together but my little Alison was far too interested in picking up rocks in the alley rather than being photographed ... so I only got a few photos of her back and 2 of her looking at me but she wouldn't get in on the group photo ... maybe next time.  But, Gabe is going to be 5 in 2 weeks so he willingly did some photos for me so we can make his birthday invitations.  And Miss P and Sassy Ab were perfect little models as always!  I'm sure you've all seen them over the past two years in some of my advertisements in the Kid's Directory, Eagle Life and Meridian Magazine.  Are you ready for image overload?!  This is probably the most images I've ever posted in a single blog entry but I just love so many of them!  I think after I finish wading my way through the 227 images I shot I will put them all up in a slideshow.    Ok, ok ... enough chatter ... here's the cute kids!!!

Let's start with Sassy Miss Abbie

I'm trying to do my part to help the environment and have extended this into my business practices as well by working on going paperless.  I have decided to forego the fancy printed welcome materials in exchange for personalized client service websites.  These will inform clients of everything they need to know to before, during and after their session.  I am also in the process of getting online forms set up to enter your client information and agree to the policies and procedures.  Everything that was once mailed out will now be done online without paper or mailing.

What are you doing to help?

Happy Earth Day!

Some you do know this but many of you do not.  I was an avid digital scrapbooker but had to take a bit of a break for the last year because I got to stay so busy photographing a bunch of cute kids and families in the area :)!  I am slowing working my way back into scrapbooking since I'm about 14 months behind on both of the kids now, lol!  Oh well, I'll catch up I'm sure!  But, I wanted to let everyone know that I will be slowly adding my digital scrapbook pages to the blog.  Feel free to take a look.  Just click on Image Gallery to view the albums with digital scrapbook creations.  Check back often because I'm still working on getting them loaded and there's only 3 layouts in there so far.  I have, literally, hundreds of them.  In fact, over the summer I sent 600 layouts to the lab to be printed so that I can load them into the kid's scrapbooks.  I also have around oh um 100GB of digital scrapbooking kits!   Just for fun, here is the most recent scrapbook page I just finished.  It is a photo taken of the kids in February when I was doing their Valentine's Cards.  The kit is Express Yourself by Rhonna Penner. rememberthis020808web.jpg

I took my little man outside last week for a few photos in the field behind our house at sunset.  We are lucky enough to still live far enough outside of town to not be completely surrounded by houses.  He is so fast, literally he is a blur in many of the photos.  It is so true that is more difficult to photograph your own children.  Anyway, here is one image that I loved where he was distracted enough to hold still, lol!  I love the colors of the sky at sunset.

and one where he wasn't holding still, but jumping around on a big pile of dirt and rocks, lol!!

I had the absolute honor and privilege to photograph a beautiful young lady just 9 short days ago.  She was so full of sass and spunk, has gorgeous blue eyes and a total sweetness about her but her body was in the final stages of cystic fibrosis.  I was very sad to hear that she passed away yesterday afternoon.  Thank you to Dr. Thompson, Brandy Berry and everyone at Idaho Pediatric GI for giving me the gift of meeting and photographing Linsday.  Here are a few images of Lindsay.

This image of Lindsay and her mom is so special.
