Welcome to my blog!
Welcome to Tiffany Hix Photography! I'm so glad you decided to stop by because I LOVE what I do and I would love to share it with you. Here you will find sneak peeks of recent sessions, images of my adorable children (when they let me photograph them) and random things that I find interesting ... and I am quite random at times! So, sit back and enjoy ... and be sure to leave comments because every one loves comments!!
I've known Kim and Shane for 10 years now ... in fact they got married exactly 1 week after Steve and I did. The three of them played softball together for years while I kept score (because I'm not really a team sports kind of gal) and we have had a lot of good times. As time goes on people get busier and even though we don't get to talk or see each other as often as we like we always fall right back into step when the chance to play comes around ... that is a sign of great friends! I've been trying to get them in for a session for 2 years now and it finally happened and I couldn't have been more excited. I had a great time with them and their adorable little cutie kids and the images are gorgeous (if I do say so myself, lol). Thank you for finally having me photograph your family!! Much love!

Enjoy!
Cheryl Johnson - these pictures are most certainly worth the wait - what a beautiful family October 28, 2008

This family was great! We did their session in their fabulous backyard and Mom was sooo excited about that. Dad wasn't overly thrilled about having his portraits taken but I think I got him to relax and just be natural because it sure looks like he's having a good time! The kids were fun and great models. I had a great time photographing your wonderful family!

Enjoy!
Cheryl Johnson - Your colours and images are just fab Tiff - love your work and sure this family will too October 28, 2008

We did the session for this fun family as Dad's birthday present ... on his birthday! How fun is that? We totally lucked out on the weather too because it was cold and windy the day before (when we had originally scheduled the session) and rescheduled for the next morning. It worked out to our advantage because it was a beautiful morning and the weather started to change right after we finished the session. These guys were so much fun and did all the crazy things that I asked them to. Thanks for a wonderful time "K" family!

Enjoy!

This couple is absolutely amazing and I think they are most definitely the cutest couple I've ever photographed. These portraits are an anniversary for them but I'm not telling how many years ... even though the story is rather funny! I think I loved this session so much because these two remind me of my parents. So much in love and so perfect together. Just see for yourself!

Enjoy!

Seniors are so much fun to photograph because they want to be photographed! Sometimes little ones don't really want that silly lady with the camera trying to amuse them ... and more often than not dads don't really want to have their portrait taken ... but, high school seniors ... yep, they want to be photographed. I had a wonderful time with Miss "C" and her mom and our adventure all around town that took us to Eagle and ended up in the foothills for a gorgeous sunset. We even had to get really creative with our lighting at the end by bouncing a spotlight onto a reflector. Thank goodness I had my friend aka assistant for the night Jessica there to help me out! The images are gorgeous and Miss "C" was an awesome model and had great ideas. Thank you for a fun Saturday evening!!

Barb and Mike - WOW!! SPECTACULAR!! THANK YOU for the BEAUTIFUL IMAGES and FANTASTIC SESSION!! Anxious to see all. Have a wonderful trip xoxo September 30, 2008

I had a great session with an awesome senior from Centenntial High last night. Adam was so great to photograph, he was very relaxed and natural in front of the camera. He wanted to stay off the beaten path for his senior portraits so we went exploring and came up with some great stuff! Thanks for being such an amazing model Adam!

Enjoy!
John & Lauri - Tiffany, these are awesome! As Adam's proud parents, we knew we have a good looking son, but we never knew what he could look like in front of a camera. Wow! We can't wait to see the rest of your work! Have a great time in Jamaica. September 28, 2008

These boys are deceivingly cute ... they are little balls of energy that I wish I could capture just an ounce of. In all seriousness, these boys are so sweet and they were so fun to photograph! They kept me busy but it was very enjoyable. Having a 5 year old boy I know to expect a little crazy and a whole lotta sweet from boys that are 6 and 4. Ready to see the cute guys ...

Enjoy!
Joey - By "deceivingly cute", are you saying they aren't as cute as they look, or they are cuter than they look? ;) The pictures look great, we can't wait to see more. September 24, 2008
tiffhix - By deceivingly cute I mean they are super cute but with a little bit of craziness hidden away in there. :) September 24, 2008

Here is 5 minutes of my life and it's a very sweet 5 minutes where my kids actually want to be photographed .... and I didn't even ask! Gabe just said to me, "Mom, you can take pictures of me and Alison right now." Hmmm, let me think ... OK! I grabbed my trusty 5D and, of course, on it my beloved 85mm f/1.2L and shot for 5 minutes (5:14 - 5:19 PM) before they were offically done being photographed. These images are just totally my kids! They aren't perfect but they are exactly who my kids are right now! Alison wearing a princess dress because she is a princess and ALWAYS has a princess dress. She even demands to sleep in her princess dress from time to time. Usually, if she's not wearing a princess dress she's not wearing anything. Gabe with his favorite blanket. That green gingham blanket was mine when I was a little girl. My mom made it for me. When Gabe was born I just put the blanket in his room. Sometime in 2004 he started using that blanket and it's been his security blanket ever since. He has to have it to go to sleep and he always rubs a corner where there is a string. Grandma has redone the batting inside in the blanket twice since it became Gabe's blanket. So, 5 glorious minutes of my life showing my kids as they totally are ...

Dana - Tiffany these are beautiful. Some photographers would exagerate when they say it only took 5 mintues, but I believe it for you. You do amazing work and finally, some of YOUR kids! September 19, 2008
gram mom - What do you mean "they aren't perfect"? Perfection at it's finest!! I love those little ones, and I love their Momma!!! September 19, 2008
April - Tiffany so glad you shared this, your children are so precious. Stunningly beautiful as always. I'm loving the blog :-) September 21, 2008

Gabe lost another tooth! The other front bottom tooth came out tonight, with a little help from dad! So, Gabe is short 1 1/2 teeth .... only 1 1/2 instead of 2 because his adult tooth on the other side is part of the way in already. My little boy is so big! Major milestones this year ... 2 lost teeth, kindergarten ... he's so big!

Speaking of kindergarten ... I'm a bad blogging mom and haven't posted about his first day of school yet. He did good but there were a few tears, surprisingly none from me though. We went to his classroom on the first day and had a scavenger hunt to complete together to help acquaint him with the room. After everyone was done his teacher told all the parents it was time to leave. I helped Gabe to his chair, said goodbye, gave him a kiss and hug and left the room. Not all of the parents had left yet so I stood outside the room watching Gabe. The little boy sitting across the table from him was crying and holding on to his mom and Gabe started to cry :( I walked back into the room and told him it was ok and gave him some more love and reassurance. The teacher again told everyone that it was time for the parents to leave. I helped Gabe sit down on the alphabet mat and left again. He was still crying when I left. It's sure a good thing I had Alison there to have to keep track of or else I probably would have cried.

When I picked him up from school and asked him, "How was kindergarten?" He said, "It was AWESOME!" He still gets a little sad everyday when I take him to school but it's getting better. Today was the first day that he didn't mope into the classroom. But, he is so much bigger every day after school. It's just crazy to me. He's so independent and knows where he's going and what he's supposed to do. I love my little man!

Now, here's the photos from the first day school. Alison has to do everything that Gabe does, so she also had to sit in front of the school sign and pout with her princess backpack on.

Rach - Love them! The image of Gabe and Alison at the front of the school made me laugh. She's got her backpack too! September 18, 2008
Dana - Oh, that is such a sweet story. It made me tear up a little. It is sad to see our little guys grow. I love the shot where he has partially written his name. I can't believe he has lost TEETH!! Since my oldest is five too, I am just learning about these little milestones. I had no idea kids loose teeth that early. September 18, 2008
Natasha Whiteley - oh those are great photos. congrats on the teeth :) September 18, 2008
Cheryl Johnson - they grow up so fast ...... September 19, 2008
