Welcome to the totally rad new blog! Didn't I just say a few months ago that I change things far too often?? Hmmm, yep! Ok, oh well, lol! Seriously though, this baby is staying put! The super fabulous team at Into the Darkroom did a fabulous job designing my new blog! There are a couple of things that still need spiffed up a bit but it is ready to go!
Some things to note ...
The navigation is different on this blog. As you can see there is no sidebar, instead you will find all of the navigation tools either at the top of the blog beneath the header or at the bottom of the blog. To find the older blog posts choose a month from the drop down menu at the bottom called Archives.
If you were subscribed to my other blog you will need to subscribe to the RSS feed on this blog. Sorry about that but it will just take a minute and it is very easy to do. First scroll all the way down and on the bottom left of the screen it says Subscribe to RSS, click that and you will be taken to another screen where you will then click on Subscribe in Mail over on the far right hand toolbar. Pretty easy, huh!
Another thing to note is that some of the formatting did not import over quite right but nonetheless all of the content is here so that's all that matters. Maybe some day when I have nothing else to do (yeah, right) I will sit down and fix the format .... or, maybe not!
And yet another note, I have not yet added links but I will be doing so soon and I will post on the blog when the links are all added back in!
I hope you enjoy the new blog as much as I do!
Oh yeah, all post will go beneath this one for a couple of weeks, so just scroll down to see the new stuff :)

Have you seen the footage of a pack of lions attacking a herd of water buffalo? Oh my goodness, it is amazing and the outcome is totally unexpected. National Geographic is airing this footage, hopefully without the commentary of the people on Safari, on Sunday on the National Geographic Channel. Animals are amazing!
My husband made it home from China safe and sound, YAY!!! He has lots of stories about the food, the driving and the pollution ... but that's a whole other blog post!
This one is about the fun gifts he brought back :) He brought home traditional Chinese attire home for both of the kids. On the last day in Shanghi they went shopping in one of those marketplaces where you can barter and I got hear great bragging about how good their interpreter, Jessica, was at it and how fun it was to watch. Anyways, Jessica bartered on the clothing for the kids and got it down to what amounts to about 16 US dollars ... pretty crazy!
Here's Gabe in his outfit, I didn't get a photo of Alison yet because she is grouchy (she thinks she doesn't need naps these days .... boy is she wrong, lol). 'll be sure to post when she's in a happier mood and will let me photograph her.

Today is a day celebrating the wonderful hobby that so many moms and dads (yes, I said dads) across the country participate in! If you're a digital scrapbooker I'm sure you already know about all of the awesome National Scrapbook Day stuff going on at all of the online communities! Don't miss out on the fun! Just for a little reminising, I picked out a few of my favorite scrapbook layouts I have done. These are all oldies now, but still goodies!
This layout was a challenge for a contest to become a Sugarbabe at Sweet Shoppe Designs.I had a great time during my run on the creative team at the Sweet Shoppe, be sure to check out the awesome work the designers and Sugarbabes are doing these days!! The kit on this layout is by Mindy Terasawa.
This layout was a challenge for the first Digital's Next Top Scrapper contest, which I am proud to say I won! That was so cool! he contest is hosted by Miss Mint from Peppermint Creative. The kit on this is by Michelle Coleman and elements are by Miss Mint.
And this is one of my very early layouts, about a month after I started digital scrapbooking. I love it still. The kit is by Nancie Rowe Janitz.

My husband is away on business in China. :( We miss him a lot but thanks to this wonderful program called Skype we are able to talk to him on the phone over the computer. It's really cool and the kids love it! I decided it would be a good idea to post a few photos of the kids so he can look at them online when he misses them. So, here you go. Here's Gabe ... this is his 5 year old birthday invitation photo :)
Here's Alison, she was singing a song from "Enchanted" much of the time we were in the alley ... when she wasn't picking up rocks or trying to steal Paytan and Abbie's hair things. 
And the day wouldn't be complete without a great big squeeze! 
Now, for those of you that were just thinking to yourselves ... "oh my gosh, that dress that Alison is wearing is so cute, where can I get one??" I have the answer! A friend and fellow photographer and seamstress extraordinaire, Kelly Bennett, made that darling little hankie dress for me. You can see the dresses she still has available here or if she's sold out I'm sure she'd make you one! Thanks Kelly, I love the dress on Alison ... it matches her hair perfectly!!!

Ok, I know how anxious you are to see your images and I have to tell you that I am so excited for you to see them too!! I just did a quick run through to select my favorites and I had to play with this one. Miss "E" is so stinking cute in that hat! I did a vintage tone on this image. I will post another sneak peek for you of Miss "K" later. I hope you LOVE it!!!

I'm trying to do my part to help the environment and have extended this into my business practices as well by working on going paperless. I have decided to forego the fancy printed welcome materials in exchange for personalized client service websites. These will inform clients of everything they need to know to before, during and after their session. I am also in the process of getting online forms set up to enter your client information and agree to the policies and procedures. Everything that was once mailed out will now be done online without paper or mailing.
What are you doing to help?

We're working on going green too - the biz paperwork - paperless paperwork :) that's my kind of paperwork! :) LOL
We just checked out the reusable bags at our grocery store - they have a deal going on right now to get more customers involved. Very cool!
